Nature Conservation
Menara Kuala Lumpur was constructed with utmost attention being paid to the environment to ensure the natural surroundings of Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve remain undisturbed. Gazetted as a forest reserve since 1906 (and one of the oldest in the country), it serves as a natural green lung for the surrounding metropolitan area. We even took special care to construct a retaining wall around a 106 year old Jelutong tree (Dyera Costulata), that can be viewed near the Pedestrian Mall on the Tourist Floor.
Forest In The City
Any visit to Menara Kuala Lumpur is incomplete until you have walked our hanging bridge or strolled through the surrounding forest. After all, Menara Kuala Lumpur is the only tower of its kind in the world located right inside a tropical rain forest! Other activities include bird watching and there is also a camping site available on request.
